The Squad Builder is the core planning tool in Build a Blue Lock Squad. It allows you to construct, save, and optimize your team lineup before committing to changes in your active roster. Mastering the Squad Builder is essential for competitive play.

Accessing the Squad Builder

Open the Squad Builder from the main menu. The interface displays your current roster, available characters, and various configuration options. You can access the Squad Builder at any time without affecting your live squad. The tool operates on a separate sandbox environment. Changes made in the Squad Builder do not apply to your active squad until you explicitly confirm and apply them.## Interface Overview The Squad Builder interface consists of four main sections: Character Panel displays all available characters in your roster. You can filter by rarity, role, Chemistry type, and OVR range. The panel updates in real-time as you add or remove characters from your squad. Squad Display shows your current lineup in the selected formation. The display highlights active Chemistry connections between characters with colored lines. Green lines indicate Natural Pair Chemistry, red lines indicate Crushing Rivalry Chemistry. Formation Selector allows you to choose from available formations. The selector shows recommended formations based on your current squad composition and highlights which formations would maximize your Chemistry activations. Chemistry Overview provides a summary of all active Chemistry connections in your squad. It displays the total Chemistry percentage contribution and identifies which Chemistry labels are inactive.## Building a Squad

Step 1: Select Your Core Characters

Start by identifying your two or three strongest characters. These will form the core of your squad. Place them in the Squad Display first to establish your Chemistry foundation.

Step 2: Add Chemistry Pairings

Once your core is established, add characters that form Natural Pairs or Crushing Rivalry pairs with your existing characters. The Chemistry Overview updates immediately when you add a new character, allowing you to see the impact before committing.

Step 3: Fill Remaining Positions

Fill the remaining squad positions with characters that complement your Chemistry pairs. Prioritize characters with secondary Chemistry connections even if they are slightly lower in OVR.

Step 4: Select Formation

Choose the formation that maximizes your active Chemistry connections. The Formation Selector provides guidance on which formations work best with your current lineup.## Chemistry Optimization

Maximizing Chemistry Chains

To create the longest Chemistry chains, look for characters that share Chemistry labels with multiple other characters. A character connected to three other characters through Chemistry creates a chain that activates multiple bonuses simultaneously.

Balancing Chemistry Types

A mix of Natural Pairs and Crushing Rivalry pairs provides the most stable bonus structure. Pure Crushing Rivalry builds are powerful but fragile, while pure Natural Pair builds are stable but may lack the raw power of Rivalry builds.

Chemistry and Position Fit

Even with perfect Chemistry, a mispositioned character will underperform. Always verify that each character is placed in their primary or secondary position. The Squad Builder displays position fit as a percentage next to each character.## Formation Recommendations The Squad Builder analyzes your squad composition and recommends formations based on several factors: Chemistry Potential measures how many Chemistry connections your squad would activate in each formation. Position Coverage evaluates whether your squad has characters to fill every required position in the formation. Stat Distribution reviews your squad’s combined stats to determine which formation would amplify them most effectively.## Saving and Loading Squads The Squad Builder allows you to save up to five different squad configurations. Use this feature to experiment with alternative builds without losing your current setup. Saved squads are stored locally on your device. If you clear game data, saved squads will be lost.
