Duels Mode is the competitive 1v1 PvP component of Build a Blue Lock Squad. This mode tests your ability to build a focused squad optimized for direct confrontation against another player’s roster. Success in Duels requires understanding matchmaking mechanics, reward structures, and advanced counter-strategies.

Duels Mode Overview

Duels Mode pairs you against another player in real-time or asynchronous combat. Each Duels match consists of three rounds. The player who wins two rounds first claims victory. You earn ranking points for wins and lose points for losses, affecting your overall Duels rank. Ranks in Duels Mode range from Bronze through Champion, with Champion being the highest achievable competitive tier. At the end of each season, rankings reset and rewards distribute based on your final standing.## Match Format Each Duels round is a full match with standard game mechanics. Both players field a squad of the same total OVR cap. The game balances squad strength so that lower-OVR squads receive stat bonuses to remain competitive against higher-OVR opponents. The match uses a simplified formation rule set. Both players select from a curated list of approved formations, reducing the complexity of counter-formation strategies. The approved formation list rotates each season.## Matchmaking System Duels Mode uses a hidden MMR (Matchmaking Rating) system. The game attempts to match you with opponents of similar skill, but during off-peak hours, the matchmaker may broaden the acceptable MMR range. The most effective Chemistry setup for Duels focuses on dual Crushing Rivalry pairs. Since Duels is 1v1, you only need two active Chemistry pairs to maximize your bonus. Select characters that form Crushing Rivalry pairs and build your squad around those two relationships.

Defensive Considerations

Some Duels players build defensive squads designed to endure and counter-attack. A well-built defensive squad with strong Natural Pair Chemistry can frustrate aggressive opponents and win through endurance.## Counter-Strategies
