This guide teaches the two core gacha mechanics — reroll and refresh — and provides decision frameworks for every stage of progression from day-one account to elite lineup.

Understanding Reroll

A reroll replaces the lowest-OVR player in your current lineup with a new random character from the gacha pool. The game automatically identifies your weakest squad member — you do not choose which player gets replaced.

After the reroll, you see a new character with their OVR, stats, rarity, and position. You choose to accept (swap them in) or reroll again (spend another token for another replacement).

Key implications:

• Rerolling always targets your weakest link — good for raising floor OVR
• You cannot protect a low-OVR player from replacement
• Each reroll costs one reroll token regardless of outcome
• The new pull can be any position, not necessarily the same as the replaced player

Understanding Refresh

A refresh resets the available character options in your current roll without replacing any squad member. If your current roll pool shows three characters and none satisfy you, refreshing generates three new options from the same roll.

Refresh costs one refresh token — a separate currency from reroll tokens. Active codes like ELUSIVE grant both rerolls and refreshes.

Key implications:

• Refresh does not change your squad — it only changes what you see in the current roll window
• Useful when your pool has multiple decent options and you want to see alternatives
• Wasteful when your pool already contains a clear upgrade — just accept the pull
• Refresh tokens are scarcer than reroll tokens — spend them deliberately

Reroll vs Refresh Decision Tree

Use REROLL when:

• Your lowest-OVR squad member is below your target tier (see Tier List)
• You pulled a character worse than your current weakest player
• You are in early game and any upgrade raises squad average
• Your squad has a clear weak link dragging down total OVR

Use REFRESH when:

• Your current roll pool shows 2+ characters above your weakest player but none is a clear best pick
• You want to see different options before committing a squad change
• Your pool has a mix of positions and you want a specific role

Accept WITHOUT spending when:

• The new pull is A-tier or above on the Tier List
• The new character raises your squad OVR by 3+ points
• You pulled a Legendary or Elusive — almost always accept (see Rarity Tiers)

Stage-by-Stage Reroll Strategy

Early Game (Squad OVR 40-65)

Reroll aggressively. Accept anything Rare or above. Do not refresh — your reroll tokens are too valuable for early upgrades. Burn through Working Codes rerolls quickly to climb out of Common-tier hell.

Target: Get every squad slot above 60 OVR within your first 15-20 rerolls.

Mid Game (Squad OVR 65-80)

Start being selective. Accept Epic and above. Reroll away Rares unless they are temporarily your best option at a position. Begin using refreshes when your pool shows multiple Epics.

Consult Best Strikers to prioritize offensive upgrades. Target: 75+ average OVR with at least one A-tier striker.

Late Game (Squad OVR 80-90)

Only accept A-tier and S-tier characters. Every reroll should chase a specific upgrade identified in Best Characters. Use refreshes sparingly — only when a pool has multiple viable A-tier options.

Target characters: NEL Isagi, NEL Rin, NEL Nagi, Kaiser, Barou, Bachira, Shidou, Sae, Lavinho, Kunigami.

End Game (Squad OVR 90+)

Reroll only for Elusive-tier upgrades or S-tier replacements for your weakest S-tier. Refresh only when a pool contains multiple S-tier options. Follow High OVR Squad Guide benchmarks.

Common Reroll Mistakes

Refreshing a pool with a Legendary — Never refresh when a Legendary or Elusive is already visible. Accept immediately.

Rerolling A-tier characters in mid game — An A-tier Epic at 80 OVR is worth keeping until you have S-tier alternatives. Do not chase perfection too early.

Ignoring position impact — A striker upgrade raises OVR and match performance more than a GK upgrade. Prioritize outfield rerolls — see Best Goalkeepers.

Burning all tokens at once — Spread rerolls across days to combine with daily quest rewards from Daily Quests. Daily income adds up.

Not checking tier list first — Always compare new pulls against Tier List before accepting. A high-OVR character with poor stat distribution may rank lower than a moderate-OVR character with ideal stats.

Maximize tokens before strategizing spending:

2. Complete all Daily Quests each day
